Hi and welcome! I am so glad you are here (yes, actually I am). 

 

Let me tell you a little bit about Women of God Abiding.

In 2023 I started asking myself the question "What does it actually mean to be a 'Woman of God'?"

 

I had grown up in the Jehovah's Witness religion and was disfellowshipped when I was 19. I was left deeply hurt by the way that religion treats disfellowshipped people. As a result  I swore off anything to do with religion, threw out my Bible, and wouldn't even say "God" or "Jesus". The following years I ran in all the opposite directions of God while simultaneously trying to figure out who I was.

 

Looking back, I can see He never once left my side. During my sprint I met people (now family) who showed me what it actually meant to be a Christ follower. Ever so slowly (veeeery slowly) and with a lot of resistance, my pace began to change. I eventually stopped, turned around, and rededicated my life to Christ in 2022. I started running again, only this time into His outstretched arms.

I share this because I know my story isn't far off from others. 1 Peter 5:8 says "Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (NIV). I learned the deep hurt I experienced wasn't from God. It actually grieved Him. Satan is the ruler of this world and causes all sorts of pain. But, good news! A few verses later the Bible tells us "And the God of all grace...will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast." (vs.10)

 

After learning that I was still trying to figure out who I was. But, this time it was different because I was choosing to learn from "the God of all grace". 

 

Soon after asking the question "What does it actually mean to be a 'Woman of God'?" I felt the nudge that I needed to share my experiences and what I've learned so far. That there were other women and young girls who needed to hear.

 

That brings us to Women of God Abiding. To be honest I'm not sure what God has planned. And that's actually kinda exciting. Each season is a new adventure with Christ and I can't even imagine what lies ahead!

Women of God Abiding is dedicated to bringing together women and girls of all ages and walks of life to discover who they are in Christ.
